Diepklowe Farm update: June-August 2018

Winter settled in and the trees got some good rest, while the cover crop took it’s opportunity to grow, fixing carbon, stabilising soils and adding nitrogen. Take a look at the June-August report for more.

Background

The Diepklowe Regenerative Farm project on Porcupine Hills Guest Farm has been in development since May 2016. The intention behind the project is to implement and test a variety of agroecological, regenerative, agricultural practises on the Porcupine Hills Guest Farm property in the Overberg, just outside of Cape Town. The first phase of the project is an experimental, integrated, mixed fruit orchard which will include intercropping practises, biochar usage, keyline inspired ploughing strategies and a variety of other organic orchard management practises.
